The Next Cycle is an evidence based education and support platform developed and facilitated by a registered psychologist.

It is about what comes after. For the family you have, and for what you are still processing.

Understanding Disenfranchised Grief

Some losses are deeply felt but rarely acknowledged. This free handout gives language to disenfranchised grief and offers gentle prompts to help you understand what you may be carrying.

For the part of you that is still trying to make sense of what happened, and what comes next.

The Next Cycle has been developed for parents navigating life after infertility changes their family story.

Secondary infertility: Loving the child or children you have, while also carrying the grief of the family you imagined.

Life after fertility treatment has ended: Whatever the outcome of that journey.

The decision to stop treatment: And the emotional, relational, and identity work that follows.

Parenting through grief: Being their everything for every daylight moment, while quietly grieving the family you imagined in the darkness.

The partner experience: Carrying an often invisible emotional load.

The Next Cycle is inclusive of women, men, and non-binary people, couples and individuals, across varied experiences and outcomes.

The gratitude is real. So is the grief.

Secondary Infertility

Secondary infertility, the experience of difficulty conceiving or carrying a pregnancy after a previous birth, is a recognised and often isolating experience.

Many parents navigating this sit with genuine love for the child or children they have and genuine grief for the family they imagined.

Both experiences can be true at once.

The Next Cycle gives language, structure, and gentle support to the parts of this experience that are often hard to explain out loud.

This is not about telling you to move on. It is about creating space for what you have lived through, what you are still carrying, and what life can begin to look like from here.

A course, community, and resource space for the life that comes after.

About The Founder

A note from Brodie

I created The Next Cycle because I could not find the kind of space I was looking for: one that understood life after infertility, secondary infertility, and the grief that can exist alongside love for the family you have.

I'm Brodie Sheehan, a Registered Psychologist and founder of Next Cycle Psychology. My work sits at the intersection of professional knowledge and lived experience, with a focus on grief, identity, relationships, values, and meaning-making after fertility treatment or family-building changes shape.

The Next Cycle is coming.

If this resonates, add your name to the waitlist. There is no pressure and no commitment, just an early connection to something that is being built with care, and with you in mind.
